Elodie Gauthier, black and white portrait
Senior physiotherapist, Balance Glasgow

Elodie qualified as a physiotherapist in 2015 (BSc Hons) and now works as a senior physiotherapist in private practice at Balance, alongside local charities in Glasgow.

She is the BAPAM Assessing Clinician for the Glasgow clinic, supporting musicians, dancers, actors and circus artists through the British Association for Performing Arts Medicine. Her clinical work spans neuro-musculoskeletal care, orthopaedics, pelvic health and occupational health.

Outside the clinic she is a writer, musician and photographer, and a researcher in neuroscience and psychology. She trains in dance, martial arts, yoga and Pilates, which is partly why she understands what it takes to get back to the thing you love.

A safer space

Elodie is a member of the LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent communities and aims to offer a safer space for every patient and student.

Yoga

Slow, careful practice

Elodie teaches mainly Yin yoga, with meditation and pranayama, and brings a physiotherapist's understanding of anatomy to the mat. Classes are quiet and unhurried, and suit beginners and people managing pain or injury.

She also teaches anatomy and physiology for yoga teachers and teacher training programmes.
